Dr. Steven Caraway attended McNeese State University as a pre-chiropractic student. In 2003, Dr. Caraway was awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology and in 2004 earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Texas Chiropractic College. He was an honor graduate and served both class officer and student representative of the college’s Ethics Board. He was a distinguished student and selected to serve as a teacher assistant in anatomy, radiology, physical medicine, and rehabilitation.
Dr. Caraway completed his chiropractic internships at the Moody Clinic in Pasadena, TX and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. His internships consisted of chiropractic evaluations and manipulation of musculoskeletal condition, radiology, and observations in neurosurgery, internal medicine, and pediatrics.
Dr. Steven Caraway has acquired certification in the Eastern Art of Acupuncture and completed a postgraduate Diplomat degree in Nutrition. Dr. Caraway has also studied bodily injuries due to automobiles, work, and other whiplash related accidents at The Spine Research Institute of San Diego and completed advanced certification in Whiplash and Traumatology. Dr. Caraway also has a certification in dry needling.
Dr. Caraway served on an advisory commission for the Louisiana Legislation (LHCC) from 2007-2015. He served as a Board Member for the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana (CAL) from 2010-2012. Dr. Caraway currently serves as CAL president.
Dr. Caraway’s focus is a total body approach of healthcare. Dr. Caraway treats his patients with passive modalities, soft tissue manipulation, chiropractic manipulation and active rehabilitation of the injured areas of the body. This treatment not only works to alleviate pain and increase mobility, but it also strengthens injured or damaged tissues to significantly decrease the likelihood of re-injury.
